Finished Measurements: 54 in long and 20 in wide, excluding crocheted border
Yarn: Approx 700 yd worsted weight yarn
Needles: Size 10 straight or circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge) size 1 corchet hook
Gauge: 12 sts and 20 rows= 4 in worked in patter stitch
Directions:
CO 63 sts
Rows 1-5: K3, p3 to end
Rows 6-10: P3, k3 to end
Repeat rows 1-10 until shawl measures 54 in, or desired length. BO all sts.
Crochet Border:
With crochet hook, attach yarn at right edge of one end of shawl.
Row 1: Working in the CO or BO sts, crochet as follows: Ch 3, sk 2 sts, dc in next st, * ch 2, sk 2 sts, dc in next st, repeat from * across to left edge. After last dc, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: Repeat row 1, working dc sts in dc sts of previous row. After last dc, cut yarn and pull through last loop. Weave in end.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 on opposite end of shawl.
Lap Robe: Cast on 63 sts. Follow pattern to 36-40"
