Barnabas Ministry

This care ministry serves home bound and elderly people within our church community and beyond. Barnabas volunteers make visits/contact at least once a month, providing fellowship and spiritual care to those who cannot always make it to worship services. If you are interested in becoming a Barnabas volunteer, or if you know someone who needs a visitor, please contact the church office at office@clumc.com or 605-348-1080.

Prayer Ministry

Need prayer? We have a host of people who will start praying right away. Send your request to office@clumc.com. We also have a prayer shawl ministry. We would love for you to have a prayer shawl (full or pocket-sized!) that reminds you that we care and are praying for you.

Hospital Visitation Team

This ministry has volunteers who check in with the hospital on their assigned day and visit any congregation members who might be there. Volunteers provide a welcome smile, comfort, a conversation if desired, and simply a reminder that the church is here to support us through all circumstances and situations. There is required training through the hospital to be allowed to do these visits. If you are interested in volunteering contact Lois Ames at garyandloisames@gmail.com

Prayer Shawls

Prayer Shawls are made to give comfort to those who are sick or in need of care and support. Crafted with love and prayer, they provide a physical reminder of God’s love. We have small pocket-size and larger shawls available. Do you know someone who is discouraged, sick or hurting? Pick up a shawl to give to that person. Simply take the prayer shawl, fill out the card regarding the recipient of the shawl, and leave that card in the church office or the offering plate. Then take the prayer shawl to that person - and you’re invited to pray with them, too.

Outreach Team

This team of volunteers gathers at least once a month and organizes events or other ways to reach our neighborhood and community. In the past they have helped organize and publicize Trunk or Treat, VBS, handed out popsicles to Canyon Lake School kids, pray for the school, and there are more projects in the works!
