UMW Garage Sale

UMW Garage Sale.  This year the garage sale will be held JULY 17-21.  Please mark your calendars & gather all those extra items you have been meaning to pass on. You may begin bringing items on July 9th and place in classroom #3 in the Christian Life Center.  This is a great opportunity to clean up, give to someone in need and help the UMW raise money for their many programs.  A 3 fold blessing!!!

If you have any questions regarding the garage sale please contact Carol Dormann or Jeanette Keck.

Many Hands Weekend

Save the dates.  August 18-19

Together, all summer long we raise $$ for materials like soap, soup, towels and toothbrushes, crayons and rulers. Then on one crazy weekend adults, teens and kids pack firefighter kits, soap packets for HOPE Center, UMCOR kits, etc.

Below is a shopping list of things you can buy to help out!

  • 3 oz (or larger) bars of soap
  • Adult toothbrushes
  • Small sized tooth paste
  • New light-weight wash cloths and hand towels
  • Deodorant
  • Unopened motel-size soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotions.
  • 6 inch, sturdy combs
  • Blunt metal scissors (round tips only)
  • 24-count crayons
  • One-subject notebooks
  • 100-200 page notebook paper packets
  • 12 inch (or 30 centimeter) rulers
  • Unsharpened pencils
  • 2 inch (or more) erasers

July is hamburger or tuna helper supply month. You can bring food in or make a check out to CLUMC with the memo Many Hands.

New this year: Let's get off our hilltop
and out into the city on August 19.
Make your own outreach team of 2 or 3 families, couples and singles.

Design a project: Walk dogs at the Humane Society. Trim brush at The Journey Museum. Wash wheelchairs and visit with residents at a nursing facility. Bake and deliver cookies to a Fire Department. Get the idea?

Hills Alive Youth Event

Middle and high school youth will be going to Hills Alive  on July 21 to hear Jordan Feliz and Matt Maher play.

Both Katie Heinis and Melissa Shoop will be wearing their Team Canyon Lake shirts so students can spot them when they meet at the fountains in Mains Street Square at 5 pm. Pickups will be at 830 pm in the same spot.  Please bring a chair or blanket to and beverages since the weather is typically hot!

They can RSVP to Melissa at 605-641-1032
